BisoKey32 – Description

The operation of the BisoKey32 is simple: once connected to the USB port of the computer, any PC program with an input text field will receive the key code that is read when the key is placed on the metal plate. Every second the code will be sent to the computer as if it had been typed on a keyboard. In RS232 mode the operation is similar, but the code is sent to the serial port of the device connected to it. HID and RS232 modes can coexist and work at the same time.

The BisoKey32 reader is also equipped with three exposed I/O pins with dedicated pull-up resistor that can be used in digital mode (0V = low; 5V = HIGH) or analogue with integrated 10-bit AD converter (max 5V). An LM35 or TMP36 temperature probe (-50 ° C / + 125 ° C) can be connected to the analog pins, allowing the BisoKey32 to become a precise temperature probe.

Two further digital pins have been set up to connect as many LEDs, or to make customizable configurations.

On board there is a socket that allows you to mount a Dallas / Maxim DS18B20 temperature probe. In the same way, a chip such as the DS2401+ capable of providing a unique 64-bit ID (Silicon Serial Number, laser-engraved by the manufacturer) can be integrated, ideal for transforming the BisoKey32 into a portable and compact identification or authentication system.

There are also pins exposed to connect an I2C channel (unbuffered).

It is possible to adapt the BisoKey32 for the connection of Wiegand / MiFare reading heads at 125 KHz or 13.56 MHz on 1-Wire channel for reading RFID tags and badges.

On request, the product can be supplied with a sealed resin casing to protect it from humidity and dust.

Wiring

The standard version BisoKey32 reader is supplied with a USB 2.0 Mini-B version connector. The detachable USB cable is supplied separately.

On request it can be supplied with a cable integrated into the casing, approximately 90 cm long, welded on the board and not removable, suitable for industrial use.
